Here are three choices for overnight accomodations for the event: stay in the dorms inside the event, stay at the Red Roof Inn in Cary, or camp at the fairgrounds. Overnight In the DormsWe have a limited number of beds available in the dorms inside the
event area. For $20 per person, we are offering a bed in the dorms
on-site, a Saturday evening grill-out, use of showers on-site, and a
continental breakfast on Sunday morning. You must register by September 11th to
reserve your bunk. A big thanks to The Sojourner Whole Earth Provisions for hosting overnight activities this year. Red Roof Inn in Cary (10 minute drive)We have confirmed rates at a local hotel, the Red Roof Inn at 1800 Walnut Street, Cary, NC (they call it Raleigh SouthWest). For $54.99/night plus tax you get a room with 2 double beds for up to 4 adult guests. When you call to register, make sure to ask about discounts. They offer $5 to $10 off for a variety of things like AAA, veterans, over 50, and maybe memberships like Costco and Sam's Club, but won't mention it unless you ask. This rate is good for the nights of September 17th, 18th and 19th, your choice whether you stay all three nights, or just one or two of them. If you are interested, DO NOT call the the hotel directly, instead call the tool free reservations number, 800-733-7663. Camping at the FairgroundsThe NC State Fairgrounds offers camping for $25/night pers site/tent. There are tent sites inside our event space, and everything from tent to full RV hookup sites elsewhere in the fairgrounds. Call Fairgrounds Public Safety at (919) 612-6767 or (919) 821-7400 for more details. Please note that, if you tent camp inside our event space, the fairgrounds will charge you their $25 fee, then we will still charge our overnight fee of $20/person on top of that to cover the overnight activities and fees we pay the fairgrounds. Of course, if you tent camp inside the event, you will still have access to the Saturday night grill dinner, restroom/showers and breakfast Sunday morning. |
